Upcycled Denim Tote or Purse | Sacramento

Have you been saving old jeans for a special project? We have just the class for you! Learn to upcycle old jeans into a small Tote or Handbag. This is a fully lined tote with both exterior and interior pockets. The finished bag measures 15" wide by 12" tall by 3" deep when flattened.

BONUS! The pattern is free, and zippers and snaps will be provided. This class is offered to adults or teens aged 16 or older with some sewing experience; it is not a beginner project.

Supplies List:

• Sewing machine, power cord, foot control, standard and zipper presser feet
• Clean jeans, one to two pairs
• 1/2 yard of quilting cotton fabric for the lining or two old men's shirts
• 1 yard of Pellon Flex Foam, FF78F1
• 2 yards of Pellon Shape Flex interfacing, SF101
• Mettler Metrosene 50 wt. polyester thread in coordinating color
• Schmetz Denim (Jeans) sewing machine needle, size 90/14
